The centrifugal sieve is mainly used to separate the fiber and starch slurry. The equipment is widely used in large and medium-sized starch production enterprises and can be used for the extraction of corn, wheat, potato, cassava and other tubers starch. In the cassava production processing, the centrifuge sieve mainly used for separating fiber as much as possible from the cassava slurry after the grinding process. The purpose of separation and purification of starch is achieved through sieving. At present, multiple sieving or countercurrent washing processes are generally adopted in order to improve the starch yield.

The structure and working principle of centrifuge sieve

The centrifugal screen consists of stainless steel body, door cover, feeding tube, backwash water assembly, backwash nozzle, rotating sieve basket, spindle, transmission group, motor, starch collecting chamber, slag collecting chamber and so on. When centrifuge sieve operates, cassava slurry enters into the bottom of the rotating cone sieve basket through the feeding tube. Under the action of centrifugal force, the slurry evenly distributed along the screen surface and moved towards the direction of large diameter. In the cone sieve basket, the cassava slurry moves in a complicated curve along the inner cone surface until it reaches the outer edge of the cone basket. It is sprayed around by centrifugal force and falls into the slag collecting chamber. The diameter of starch granule is less than that of sieve mesh or gap width. Under the action of centrifugal force and gravity, part of starch granule directly falls into the starch collecting chamber through the mesh or gap. The other part splashes onto the body's back and slides down the back, eventually falling into the starch collecting chamber. In this process, sprinkling water is provided on the back of sieve surface and screen basket which can effectively prevent the blocking of the screen mesh.
